You are always invited to ask me any questions about law that you have. I maintain a network of attorneys, including those who specialize in personal injury and medical malpractice, business law and transactions, matrimonial and family law, labor and employment law, tax and estate planning, real property zoning and development, traffic violations and criminal defense, and other professionals, including financial planners, accountants, tax preparation professionals, insurance and real estate agents, appraisers, insurance and mortgage brokers, home inspection experts, Medicaid application specialists, and geriatric care managers, so that I can respond to all the needs of my clients.    I would be most appreciative of requests for assistance from you, your family, or your friends.
I maintain the following professional memberships to ensure that I have the latest and best information available for exceptional representation:
  • The New York State Bar Association, including membership in three sections, Elder Law, Estate Planning and Real Property. These sections each provide a quarterly newsletter full of information specific to their practice, as well as an online forum for the constant exchange of questions, information and advice. The forums greatly expand the amount and breadth of input on any issue.
The Association has its own monthly Law Journal and provides weekly updates on cases of interest as well as a monthly digest of landmark legal decisions. It also provides some of the best Continuing Legal Education available, routinely showcasing the most prominent attorneys in the field coupled with comprehensive materials consistent with the Association's many practice publications.
  • The Nassau County Bar Association, including the Elder Law Committee. That committee meets once a month to provide information useful on a local level and hosts a monthly luncheon that allows members to exchange questions, information and ideas in a relaxed and personal setting.
  • The National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, a national organization that has a daily online message board that expands my access to information and assistance to a national scope, and which hosts national conferences and has both a monthly and quarterly publication.
  • Elder Law Answers, another national organization that provides me with weekly updates and additional access to material and the national roster of elder law attorneys.

  • The Chaminade Alumni Lawyers Association
  • The Catholic Lawyers Guild
In addition to the services that I provide to my private clients, I serve in the following quasi-judicial, decision making capacities:

  • No-Fault Insurance Arbitrator. Since 2002, I have served at the pleasure of the New York Superintendent of Insurance, adjudicating disputes between various providers of medical services and automobile insurance companies and determining whether or not claims should be paid, analyzing fact and law of each claim.
  • Small Claims Assessment Review Hearing Officer. I decide disputes between homeowners and Nassau County over the correct assessment of their property, decisions that directly impact the amount of real estate tax that homeowners pay.
  • Nassau County District Court Arbitrator. I assist the court by hearing and deciding cases sent to me from the Court's calendar of cases, typically involving contract matters.

While you are always welcome to ask questions and speak with me about anything on this website, I am always looking for discussions on particular topics, and am likewise interested in meeting new people that share my interests. The topics that especially interest me are listed here, although not necessarily in order of greatest interest and certainly not in order of importance:
Thoroughbred Racing. I have been a fan of the sport since 1968 and remain enthralled by its beauty, history and competition.   I am always looking for other fans and connections to the sport.
Music. My musical preferences run to blues, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll that descends from both. I am looking to discuss and learn about the artists, mostly African American, that influenced and the artists that were influenced by them.
Personal Development materials-Books, audios, videos, websites, newsletters, etc. Since listening to Stephen Covey’s “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Families” in 1998, I have been fascinated and inspired by a host of motivational speakers and authors, including Anthony Robbins, Zig Ziglar, Ken Blanchard, Brian Tracy, Bert Decker and Brian Johnson. If you have been inspired as well, or just want to know more about what the materials have to say, let me know. I would love to share my thoughts and get yours.
Raising Positive Children In A Negative World-Borrowing a couple of themes from Zig Ziglar and Stephen Covey, my door is always open to discuss how to impart positive values to my children and teach them to live by a well formed conscience consistent with what is truly good and truly right. I am especially interested in discussing raising children in the Roman Catholic faith.
Catholics Who Are Familiar with George Weigl, one of my favorite Catholic authors
